I recently upgraded my Lenovo computer with a new larger PSU and graphics card. So, I have now a genuine just over 1 year old Lenovo PSU 400 watts, 80+ certified platinum.  It has proprietary mobo connector 10 pin nine wired, also 6 pin PCIE/Graphix and 4 pin CPU power connectors.  So Lenovo only use. The graphics card is GTX 960 2 GB card. They are in need of a good home. PM me for details.

Well I sent feedback to MS today.  Edge is 100% broken on my laptop after the latest update.  All common remedies fail reboots, browser cleaning, and re-setting.  Nothing works.  Edge can no longer even display webpages I use.   Gotta love MS and forced updates.  I told them I'm now forced to use Google Chrome.  I do not like it but I now have no other choice. Well, now it is 09/14/2017 and Edge is working again.  I did not find any fresh updat...

Well I've searched and searched and searched and joined Windows Insider Program and all to no avail there is no download and install available to me of Windows 10 technical preview. Why do they make it soooo hard.   It's working and auto activated and will update.

So, I licensed Acronis Home Backup and Recovery 2012.  Their software is AWFUL.  It always 100% of the time says when I start it that a new version is available.  It always 100% of the time fails to install saying I have the latest version.  It always 100% of the time says the registration server is unavailable. When I contacted their customer support they of course said I have to pay for support.  Even though they have simply turned off their servers and are not allo...

Okay so I saw an 8GB Kingston memory stick USB 2.0 for sale and picked one up.  I also discovered Ready Boost so I reformatted the thumb drive to NTFS and got the 7.4 or so GBs useable and plugged it in. Then I began looking at what else is available especially as this would make decent storage for music files and the like.  So now I've come across faster thumb drives for USB 3.0.  Mushkin has some nice offerings but they cost more. So, my question is does it make any...

I'm looking for some pointers to get sfc to complete a scan.  It runs the Verification phase to 16% the aborts with: "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation" I've tried disabling alot of startup programs but not all.  I searched and found MS Help topic stating make sure Windows Moduler Installer is running and it is.  I also tried turning off UAC. So far no soap. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Any pointers.

Well I'm still waiting to solve my computer problem.  I don't have one yet (a computer) . I called TigerDirect last week and placed an order for one.  They got a pre-auth approved on my account but no matter what I did they would not agree that I was who I said I was and honor my order.  I spent numerous phone calls and emails attempting to address their "concerns" but it was hopeless.  They were content to take my money (I won't say how much) but not "approve my orde...

Well my fortunes have finally turned for the better where I am now planning my next PC.  I've secured a reasonable full time job. I'm looking for advice on how to get a great value on a good PC for Windows 7.  I'll be gaming and customizing so a good graphics card is a must as is having enough PC memory and speed for the next couple of years. A few questions that came to mind is do I need Windows 7 Professional or is Windows 7 Home Premium adequate?  I will want to play...

Thought I put this up for those interested to kick around. Last year I began to feel somewhat hardware constrained.  My PC is an HP Media Center machine from mid 2005.  I had added a low end graphics card ATI Hypermemory type to HP's standard configuration.  So, I had a 2.4Gz AMD 3800 single core CPU, 200 GB's of HD storage, 1 Gb of Ram, and a starter graphics card.  This was initialy adequate but, recently it was feeling sluggish and performance constrained, espec...

Hi all,  Well as a result of Po's thread Virtual Memory Question I've discovered that when I click on start, run and type in msconfig and press enter ...... nothing happens.  I fired up explorer and searched my windows sub, no go and did a system Search twice and again no go.  Did some web searching and discovered one of 2 possibilities an installed app has it hidden from my through a system key setting or in the worst case malware.  At present I'm not suspecting malware....

Hi guys. I thought I would check here to see what sort of info I could gain on upgrading my PC. First off I have done a printout of some pertinent Hardware specs regarding my equipment. I have an HP Pavilion a1230n Desktop. When purchased it was a nice mid-range Home PC desktop. It has an AMD Athlon 3800+ CPU 2.4 GHz with an ASUS motherboard and 939 socket. Since I have no relevant experience in upgarding a PC, the most I have discovered is there may be some possibility to upgrade the CPU ...
