My two cents on this is that I got a 6tb Western Digital black drive last month, and it averages about 40mb slower than my Samsung 6tb drive, which really surprised me. I've transferred around 3.5tb to it, and it never averaged as fast as the Samsung.

I was mistaken about the Samsung (I have like 6 Samsung drives on this PC, but not the 6tb one)

It's actually a Seagate drive. And of all the lousy luck, the WD Black drive just died today.

I haven't swapped out the cable to be sure yet, but it doesn't look good. Ugh.
