Scary, isn't it?

Scary, isn't it

To say the least.  I have felt for some years that our "Democratic" system is in fact just more property of the rich and powerful.

When "Public" Corporations are so easily used as the personal Piggy Banks for a few select wealthy these are the kind of results you get.  I think that top 1% earn somewhere  around $176,500.00 for each $1 someone on the poverty line makes.

So is some sort of reasonable minimum wage standard really a "Job Killer" probably not.

We seem more and more like France was back in the days of Marie Antoinette.

It's no wonder they saw fit to reduce Food Stamps after all its just another evil entitlement.  Apparently it's "Let them eat polluted dirt these days."

Yep, it's pretty ugly.  The left side of that graph, i.e. the graph, would be the "trickle" from "Trickle Down Economics."  And right now you can bet that somebody is looking at that trickle, considering it "leakage", and trying to figure out more ways to slurp it up.

Stock market is doing great though [cough].

Quantitative Easing.  Another way of saying "Helping the Already Rich Get Richer".  Nothing to do with "trickle down" anything.  Why the stock market is so flush.

I don't think you're giving the predecessors enough credit.  It all didn't happen just in the last 10 years.

Correct...but the distribution was far less sharply divided. Also, a good deal of that division is based on old money as well.

Minimum wage was something people could live on fairly well back in the 1950s.

That's far from the case now.

I watched that clip and throughout was totally disgusted at how unevenly things are stacked in the US financially, that the top 1% almost has more wealth than the remainder put together.  I'm disgusted because it's pretty much the same here in Australia... yes, we have some of the greediest bitches and bastards on the planet here, and I wouldn't p!ss on any of 'em if they were on fire.

Thing is, with this enormous wealth being shared between a handful of greedy rich fechs and being stockpiled for their 'rainy days', rather than reinvest in the ecomonies that helped get them there, the outcome is most likely another GFC... only far worse this time than last, and several leading economists are predicting it is not too far away. Regardless, however, while the masses are unemployed, starving and even made homeless, the top 1% - 10% will continue to sit in their ivory towers, leading opulent and extravenant lifestyles like nothing has happened.

What a shame that fatal heart attack isn't a communicable disease, and the wealthy top 10% came down in an epidemic of it... it'd help balance the books a little more evenly, me thinks, cos it seems nothing else will.

Thank you Ronald Reagan. You really started this with your trickle down economic bullshit. Another pat on the back to Bill Clinton for signing off on NAFTA. Finally let's hear it for George "Dubya" Bush for letting wall street go completely insane and crash the economy which the American people bailed out. NOT ONE OF THOSE SON OF A BITCHES GOT MORE THAN A SLAP ON THE WRIST WHILE MEANWHILE WE KEEP GETTING POORER AND POORER.

Those lousy rat Republicans in Congress say that giving people a living wage will hurt business. Those same assholes who make 300 times what their employees make.

So the brainwashed public will never really see that the same people they vote for are the ones throwing them under the bus and laughing all the way to the too big to fail banks that the same public bailed out in 2008.

WHEN ARE PEOPLE GOING TO SEE THAT IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE IF BUSH OR CLINTON OR OBAMA OR REAGAN IS THE PRESIDENT?

What's going to make a difference is if the whole damn thing is restructured so that the average person has a chance. That's not going to happen because the average person just keeps taking it and accepts the CNN and FOX News bullshit reporting as truth. Why don't they show videos like the one shared here? Why isn't Robert Reich's "Inequality for All" shown on prime time. It's obvious why. It's just like dumb fuck people who say that climate change isn't real while the overwhelming number of scientists say it's been happening for awhile. They say they don't believe scientists. It their opinion.

I'll end with this.

And it all went political...so, here it is...

Dunno...  Just looked around and seems to me things are quite a bit different than during Reagan's presidency.
